Holzmann shines in inaugural PC final

April 25, 2018

The first PC event final on Tuesday night saw Patrik Holzmann (LDLC P.Holzmann) comfortably take the chequered flag having led from start to finish at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Holzmann’s faultless drive gave him the win by 4.1 seconds but behind him the racing was incredibly close. Second, third and fourth places were separated by less than a second as Joni Törmälä (G2 Topa) and Dani Bereznay (Veloce_FormulaDani) held on to claim a place on the podium ahead of Enzo Bonito (Enzo), who produced a superb drive having started in sixth.

Knowing that the top three drivers would qualify for the Pro Draft, and be available for selection by the real world Formula One teams, Bonito made a valiant attempt to claim third on penultimate corner of the race but Bereznay maintained his cool and his position despite the pressure. Equally excellent drives from Bono Huis and Graham Carroll saw them both gain three places during the 14 lap race to claim P5 and P6 respectively.

Huis produced the move of the race towards the end of the 12th lap as he made the most of DRS to get by Samuel Libert (LDLC S.Libert) on the outside of Turn 14.

You can view the full race here.

The attention now turns to the first PS4 Event final on Wednesday night with the race being streamed at 8pm (BST) on F1Esports.com.

With three events still to go, there is still plenty of opportunity for you to be able to claim a place in the Pro Draft and a drive for a real world Formula One team. All you need to do is register here and play the in-game events on F1 2017.

The next event goes live on Friday and will see you take to the streets of Baku.
