First Ever Mobile Qualifier is LIVE!

December 16, 2019

There’s no denying that the rise of smartphones has had a huge impact on society. Some think that’s a good thing – others not so much. But here at F1 Esports, we’re firmly in the pro camp, and we’ll tell you why… the first ever Mobile Qualifier is now here!

It’s another opportunity for you to test your skill, in a completely new environment. F1 ® Mobile Racing – or F1MR for short – just had a huge update, and is free to download from your application vendor of choice.

F1 ® MOBILE RACING

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. And so, your journey to taking on the mobile qualifier does too – and that’s getting the game! Head here to download the game from the App Store or Play Store for free. Once you’ve done that, you can head to the currently active GP event to get your career up and running.

There are three parts to this event – Australia, Singapore, and Belgium. Placing in these races will earn you a cumulative score, which is what you’ll register on the global leaderboard. And if you’re not satisfied the first time, or indeed the next few times, you can always re-enter to try and improve your standing.

F1MR is a competitive game where you can upgrade your car to out-perform your AI opponents. For this event though, your Performance Indicator (PI) has a fixed upper limit, so that everyone taking part is relying on their nerve and skill, rather than mechanical superiority.

A SHOT AT SUPERSTARDOM

Even if the love of the race and in-game prizes are enough, we’re not stopping there with rewards. The driver who finishes top of the pile in the Mobile Qualifier will earn a spot in the official 2020 F1 Esports Time Trial! This invite only spectacle draws in the very top echelons of esports royalty, so you’ll be competing against the best of the best.

Should you succeed in the time trial, you’ll be dropped straight into the F1 New Balance Esports Pro Draft for 2020, where you could be selected by one of the 10 official F1 Esports teams. Sounds good, right?! You only have to look as far as this year’s driver champion to see how huge an opportunity the Pro Draft is. David Tonizza was the first pick at this year’s show – and he was the class of the field. Two other picks – Nicolas Longuet and Lucas Blakely – also scored podiums in the handful of races in which they competed.

So what are you waiting for? Get the game, get practicing, and light up those leaderboards!

The event will run until 23:59 GMT on Thursday December 26. So once you’ve finished off the festive chocolates and won your fourteenth game of charades in a row, you’ve still got a bit of time to conquer the qualifier. Good luck!
