TONZILLA WEIGHS IN

It’s all well and good listing the new bits of the game – but what do the pros think? Reigning F1 Esports Pro Series champion David Tonizza got his hands on an early copy, and we asked him for his thoughts.

“If I had to describe it in three words, I would say the new game is enjoyable, competitive, and smooth,” said the Italian.

“The car’s handling has been improved a lot, making it more fun to play. Force Feedback also has been improved a bit, you can now feel the car better when you are losing grip or when you are jumping onto a curb.”

These tweaks are all incremental little features that mean when it comes to the F1 Esports Pro Series 2020, the car feel will be even more intuitive to the racers.

“I think there is going to be a huge level of competition. We are going to see smaller time gaps.” he said of the upcoming Pro Series.

“In the previous F1 games you had to do a lot of tricks with gear shifting, in order to get the perfect rotation and the traction from the car. Now, it’s more similar to reality.

FDA FOCUS

There are plenty of drivers you can choose in the brand new My Team mode. So, who’s going to partner Tonzilla?

“With the F1 Esports Series coming, I don’t think i will have enough time to play this fantastic new game mode. But in case I do  have time, I’ll surely pick an FDA driver from Formula 2!”

With the My Team mode allowing you to select any of the 2019 FIA Formula 2 drivers, he could be looking at partnering Giuliano Alesi, Mick Schumacher, or Callum Ilott, the latter two of whom have been familiar faces at F1 Esports events in the not-too-distant past. Who will you select?

Indeed, however you choose to play – be that single player or multiplayer, wheel or controller, casual or competitive, there’s a depth of quality to F1 2020 that means the options are limitless.
