Virtual Grand Prix Series Wins Leaders In Sports Innovation Award

September 23, 2020

The F1 Esports Virtual Grand Prix series has won another award! The Leaders in Sports Awards have recognised the Virtual Grand Prix Series as the leader in the category of innovation, praising the use of Esports as a vital outlet of escapism for those hungry for racing during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The accolade comes not long after being awarded ‘Best Use of Esports by a Brand’ at the Sports Technology Awards in September.

The Virtual Grand Prix series saw F1 stars past and present mixing with global music superstars, sporting heroes and celebrities alike. After eight races, George Russell racked up the most points, taking four consecutive victories to be unofficially named the champion of the series.

You can find out more about the award on the Leaders in Sports website.
