Qualification for 2021 is OPEN!

October 1, 2020

Qualification. It’s only half the job – but it’s the best way to ensure success. We’re pleased to announce that qualification for the 2021 F1 Esports Series is now open!

We’re almost ready to begin the 2020 Pro Series. But before that, we’re planting the seeds for 2021 and offering up some qualification scenarios that you can sink your teeth into.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it…

We’re putting you in Valtteri Bottas’ shoes, and your task is no less than to change history. We’re asking a lot of you here – and it’s a scenario that wouldn’t endear you to the Tifosi!

Sat in third place at the Italian Grand Prix, with six laps remaining, your goal is to hunt down team mate Lewis Hamilton. He’s on older tyres, while you have the benefit of new rubber. Beating the champion will be enough to pass the scenario, but for a real shot at qualifying, you’re going to need to maximise those points, and take the fight to Charles Leclerc in P1.

Leclerc famously won the Italian Grand Prix in 2019, sending the adoring home into rapturous applause. Deny this result, and you’ll be in with a shot.

Running throughout the month of October, anyone with a copy of F1 2020 will have access to this scenario. Simply visit the in-game Esports hub to get started! You have until the clock strikes spooky o’clock (that’s midnight on October 31) to get your best efforts in. As ever, there’s no limit on the number of times you can try, so get practising!

The top eight scorers per platform in this event will be invited to take part in the Challenger Series, a unique mini-league that will run from December 2020 to March 2021 in five separate streams. From these races, we will determine who is in with a shot of being selected by an F1 Esports team in the 2021 Pro Draft!

Make sure you’ve connected your Codemasters account and opted in to the Esports series before you get started, to ensure your efforts will be rewarded.

Good luck out there, and grazie ragazzi!
