F1 Esports 2021 Qualification Event 2 Up and Running

November 3, 2020

You flocked to the October event in your thousands. And with that month now in the rear-view mirror, it’s on to November! The second of our qualification events for the 2021 F1 Esports Series is now open. Yes, just ahead of our second 2020 Pro Series event, our second 2021 qualification event blasts into life. Do you think you can handle it?

The Lando The Free, The Home of the Brave

It’s fair to say that the 2019 United States Grand Prix was a bit of a rollercoaster for Lando Norris. No, seriously…

The McLaren racer’s first F1 race around the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas saw him claim a solid seventh-place finish. To complete this scenario, we need you to do just that. But if you can exceed that target, you’ll stand the best chance of qualifying!

You’re sat in P8 in the closing laps of the race. Team mate Carlos Sainz is ahead, and you’ve been blessed with fresh tyres to tackle COTA’s curves. Getting past Sainz is essential to pass this task. But if you can find the pace, hunting down Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo to move into P6 will net you bonus points.

Your attempt(s) will be scored on lap time, assists, penalties and total race time, so the quicker and cleaner you race, the better your chances.

Running throughout the month of November, anyone with a copy of F1 2020 will have access to this scenario. Simply visit the in-game Esports hub to get started! You have until 11:59 on November 30 to get your best efforts in. As ever, there’s no limit on the number of times you can try, so get out there!

The top eight scorers per platform in this event will be invited to take part in the Challenger Series, a 10-round online championship that will run from December 2020 to March 2021 in five separate streams. From these races, we will determine who is in with a shot of being selected by an F1 Esports team in the 2021 Pro Draft!

Make sure you’ve connected your Codemasters account and opted in to the Esports series before you get started, to ensure your efforts will be rewarded.

Get out there and show us what you can do!
