Formula 1 is Coming to Rocket League!

March 26, 2021

You heard right – the fastest sport on earth is joining up with Rocket League as part of their Season 3 update later this Spring!

Season 3 begins on April 7, and Formula 1 will be joining the content drop soon after in May, along with NASCAR. It means for the first time ever you’ll be able to control a Formula 1 model within the high-octane, jet-fuelled world of Rocket League!

As a timeless institution of speed and precision, F1 is the perfect foil for Rocket League’s acrobatic aerial action and boost-enriched goalscoring. There’s still a bit of time before the F1 content lands within the game itself, but look out for an official F1 car model, as well items, challenges and more coming to the game from Mid-May.

Rocket League’s famous DFH Stadium has been re-imagined, incorporating a track, and this incarnation of the much-loved classic  – DFH Stadium (Circuit) – will be added to both Casual and Competitive playlists from the start of Season 3, giving both the chilled and serious gamers a chance to sample the world of motorsport.

Never played before? Rocket League launched in 2015 as a sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars, and has been a much-loved combination of football and cars ever since. Teams of 1-4 players face off against a rival team in an end-to-end contest of timing, precision, luck and mayhem, as teams try to score goals against each other. If it sounds like your kind of fun, you can play for free on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Season 3 begins on April 7 following a game update on April 6 at 1100 UTC, and Formula 1 content will drop soon after in May. See you on the field!
