Williams Esports Reveal 2022 Line-Up

September 5, 2022

New season, new line-up! Williams Esports will field Alvaro Carreton, Shanaka Clay, and Daniele Haddad in the 2022 F1 Esports Series Pro Championship, presented by Aramco.

Williams’ trio brings a mix of familiarity and new horizons, with Carreton ready to embark on his fifth season with the team. The de facto Señor Williams Esports, Carreton has been with the team ever since he was selected at the 2018 Pro Draft. He is the only driver to take part in every single race since then with just one team. The Spanish ace’s career has been peppered with podiums, so he’ll be hoping for more in 2022.

Joining him are two newcomers to the team: British driver Shanaka Clay, and Italian master Daniele Haddad. This new duo have affinity already, having both raced with Aston Martin Cognizant Esports in 2021 and 2020. Clay has only had a handful of races thus far, so will be looking to break into the races on a regular basis this season. Haddad enters his third season, looking to improve on his third-place finish racing at Suzuka in 2020.

Williams finished eighth in the standings last year, after a campaign that started off strongly with a podium in Bahrain. Clearly the pace is there, so they will be looking to keep up the momentum in 2022 and ascend the standings.

Williams, and indeed the other nine official F1 Esports teams, will get racing on Wednesday September 14, when the season begins!
