Williams confirm roster for 2018 F1 Esports Pro Series
September 4, 2018
Williams Esports have become the latest team to confirm their final driver line-up for the 2018 F1 Esports Pro Series. Over the weekend of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the team confirmed that Tino Naukkarinen (Finland), Alvaro Carreton (Spain) and Alex Hanses (Germany) will be the three drivers who will compete to represent the team during the three forthcoming live events that will decide the driver and team championships for 2018.
Back in July, Williams Esports were first out of the pot at the draw to secure first pick at the inaugural 2018 Pro Draft in London, and they used that coveted position to select Naukkarinen. The Finn impressed the scouts at the driver assessment days at Silverstone a few days earlier. His all-round performance over a series of racing challenges, as well as physical and mental evaluations, meant that he was the first driver chosen out of 40 candidates that were eligible for selection at the Pro Draft.
He will be joined at Williams Esports by Carreton and Hanses, meaning that the team can call on three drivers who have titles, wins and poles between them across other sim racing Esports series – giving them a very competitive line-up for when the Pro Series starts this autumn.
