McLaren Shadow are one of five racing teams in the McLaren Racing family. The team consists of Lucas Blakeley, Dani Moreno and Wilson Hughes, and the team are named because their esports activities shadow those of their physical racing series. In 2017, McLaren became the first F1 team to enter the esports space, and in 2018, they debuted in the F1 Esports Series. Success has followed, and in the 2022 season, McLaren Shadow won the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championships. Since the formation of McLaren Racing in 1963, the team have been pioneering and innovating in the competitive world of racing, forging a formidable reputation in series including F1, F1 Esports, IndyCar, Formula E and Extreme E. The team’s ambition is to win back-to-back championships and continue with the success achieved in previous seasons.
